up and coming talent

Tuesday at Taller Cé allows local songwriters to shine.
Every week from 9 p.m. to 12 midnight, a new or old
songwriter can show up on stage and reclaim their
spotlight by performing in front of a respectable crowd.

One particular Tuesday I accompanied my brother
Ricardo J and his band “Una Noche” to Taller Cé. A
passionate musical evening was highlighted by his
innovative music style that varies from bosanova, to
bohemia and rock. Before his band and after it, other
songwriters like Michael Valentín and the rock band
“Molina” set the set the stage for a special night. And this
is just a fraction of what Taller Cé offers weekly.

Café Teatro Taller Cé is a cooperative of songwriters
that allows musicians to showcase their talents and ideas
in one place. Since opening doors a little over one year
ago, many talented up and comers play live jazz, salsa,
rock, bohemia, bomba, experimental music, poetry and
art exhibitions.

Songwriters like Zoraida Santiago, Antonio Cabán Vale
“El Topo”, Roxana and Luisito from “Iwayo”, Papo Gely,
Sebastian Paz, Sandra Valentín, Michael Valentín, José
Julián Ramírez and Ricardo J, are regulars at Taller Cé.
The stage has also hosted interviews with international
songwriter’s Ismael Serrano from Spain and the duet
“Guardabarranco” from Nicaragua.

Located at Robles Street #55, near the University of
Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, Taller Cé is an excellent choice
for the music lovers and artisans. So don’t be surprised
to find a future musical genius on your first visit at Taller
Cé.
