D.I.M.: When do you guys plan to put out your initial release?
C.O.B.: We are planning to record our demo EP in August so hopefully it will be out in October or
November of this year depending on the production process.
D.I.M.: What bands influence your music for those who haven’t heard you?
C.O.B.: Mostly our influences are different for every member of the band, but that’s a good thing because
it brings a lot of different ideas to the band when it comes to making new songs.
D.I.M.: What venue do you enjoy playing the most here in Puerto Rico?
C.O.B.: We enjoy every show that we play, because every show brings different responses and different
experiences. But the West side of the island is where we enjoy playing the most because we are locals.
But we are on a small island, so our friends from around the island make it to the shows anyway, so we are
always with family.
D.I.M.: Can you give us a little history of the COB? Have you always played hardcore?
C.O.B.: We got together in Summer of 2005. Adiel, who was playing bass at the time for One More
Summer, met up with Efren, a good friend of the band. They decided to start a band because Adiel
stopped being frontman with Prejuicio Incorregibe and wanted to sing again. After some planning, they
asked a long time friend Bebo if he wanted to play Guitar, and he agreed. So, with that in tact, they looked
for a drummer and came across Raymond (who plays for Necronemesis) and after a few shows we
decided that we needed a 2nd guitar player, so we asked Felix (OMS) to join us to complete our sound.
Our current lineup is Satan (vocals), Efren (Bass),Raymond (drums), Bebo and Felix (Guitars) The
purpose of the band is to show love for family and friends and say that we don’t like hypocrisy...ITS TIME
TO HATE. Yes we always play hardcore but in different way.
D.I.M.: Where do you guys want to be in 2 years? World Tour or local gigs?
C.O.B.: It all depends of the doors that the cd help us open, it will be perfect going to a world tour, but
truth is a US tour would be great, and local shows as well porque nunca vamos a olvidar de donde salimos.
D.I.M.: What do you guys do when your not playing music?
C.O.B.: We do a lot of different things; sometimes we skateboard or chill out together. But as individuals,
Bebo studies in a Paramedical school and hang’s out with his girlfriend, Raymond works in construction
and practices drums, Felix works, plays guitar and goes to the gym. Efren studies and talks on the cell
phone. Adiel Studies and does Martial Arts.
D.I.M.: Best song from Color of Blood?
C.O.B.: “My Promise” (on a compilation cd) and our most known “Don’t Fuck with the Family.”
D.I.M.: Where is the music scene here in Puerto Rico headed? More of the same or not?
C.O.B.: The music scene here in Puerto Rico is evolving and heading toward being one of the best
hardcore scenes in the world; we think that Puerto Rico has very good bands. Our prediction for the
future is that many PR bands are going to invade the US and let them know that we sound the same or
better then they do. As far as Reguetton, they’re not going to know what hit them.
D.I.M.: What local bands get props?
C.O.B.: One More Summer, Necronemesis, With Open Force, Down & Out, KDC, Day by Day, You Will
Suffer, Tropiezo, Standing by Grace, Goodfellas.
D.I.M.: Upcoming shows or tours?
C.O.B.: June 15 at Los Frikis (Mayaguez) with With Open Force, Day by Day, and Reaccion Despierta.
D.I.M.: Band member’s?
C.O.B.: Adiel aka “Satan” on Vocals
Felix on Guitar, Efren on Bass, Rolando aka Bebo on Guitar, Raymond on Drums
D.I.M.: Anyone you would like to thank?
C.O.B.: First of all, thanks to God for giving us the talent, To our Families for giving us a life and all the
support, To Eva, (Adiel and Felix Mom) for giving us a place to practice and stand all the noisy “music”.
Thanks from the bottom of our hearts! To all our friends for giving us that true friendship, To Alcholado
Music to giving us the opportunity of being part of their compilation and thanks to DownIsland Magazine
for interviewing us and to you for reading this.
