| To explore a place, you must be open to the new feelings and sensations it will bring. The experience starts in the road taken. The route is full of orange flamboyant embracing each other. Then, going up and then descending a hill, you will find the beach translated as Small Beach. Contradicting its name, Mar Chiquita, it anything but a small feat of nature. Mar Chiquita is located in the karst region of Manatí, Puerto Rico; city bathed by springs, lagoons, beaches and the Río Grande of Manatí. Surrounded by two limestone formations that create a blue bay; the beach is considered one of the 1,000 beautiful places in the world, and that is why many family meetings and tourists choose this beach as a place to encounter. Also, each year they celebrate the famous Festival of Mar Chiquita, beginning on the eve of Noche de San Juan on June 24, and extending for three days. From kayaking to talking with your sweetheart to walking on the beach’s magnificent rock structures, having fun with your family is elementary. Mar Chiquita waites for you to start feeling the sensations a beautiful ocean provides: peace and tranquility. And please, doesn’t worry about the food. Local merchants over have kioskos that prepare “bacalaitos”, a fried mass made of codfish; “alcapurrias”, a fried mass made of plantains, filled with meet or crab; and “pastelillos”, a fried mass filled with meet, chicken or shrimps. So, after floating around in the beautiful crystalline water, enjoy some of the local food. The rest is left to your imagination. |
