It’s 1 in the afternoon on a Sunday, but one of the most popular spots to party in
the Metro area has a somewhat full parking lot and many football enthusiasts are
entering the place dressed in their favorite’s team attire. A few hours ago it was
filled with the energy of people dancing and enjoying the luck of the Irish.

It’s Shannon’s Pub in Guaynabo, an Irish themed sports bar that has recently
moved to a bigger place to accommodate its faithful fans. The pub is a tradition
among young professionals and college students. Either if you are looking for a
place to watch a game (this days is football) or just hang out with friends. It doesn’
t matter what day of the week you are up to have fun because Shannon’s opens
seven days a week.

The drink of the house is the Long Island and it’s 2 for $8 every day, all day. If
you rather have a beer, all imported brands are 2 for $5 from 4 to 9 p.m. After
that hour, the bartenders will only serve the beer of the night, a different one
each night. Shannon’s has three bars, one of them only offers beers.
The restaurant opens for lunch around 11:30 a.m. and stays open until the last
person leaves usually around 2 or 3 in the morning. The ambience changes
depending on the day and the time you go there. You might take young children
to grab a bite or watch a game until 8 p.m. after that it’s over 18 years old and an
i.d. is required.

Mondays and Tuesdays is more relaxed, with mostly professionals and no live
band. From Wednesdays to Sundays it’s a different house band each night, the
music style is rock (Spanish and English) and it’s very rare to hear the popular
beat “reggaeton”.
It’s located at the side of Highway Martínez Nadal, right in front of the Guaynabo
Mall.
